Using a modem with Linux | Beep-boop!

Now, what exactly is a modem?

A Modem (Modulator Demodultor) modulates packet data and (usually) makes it into some kind of sound, like a dial up modem or a KISS (Keep it simple stupid) modem. A Dial-Up modem is usually used to connect to an ISP to connect to the internet or directlaly connect to your friends computer. When Dial-Up modems first came out they usually dailed a BBS (Buliten Boaurd System). A KISS modem is usually used for Ham Radio packet for sending APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System), Pakcet data etc.

We will be talking about Dial-Up modems as KISS modems are a whole other thing. The 3 programs you need to unleash the P O W A R of your Dial-Up modem:

Personal Thoughts

Personally, I think that IRC is very comfy to use. It's nice to see so much messages and channels in a very text-based chat.

This is all I have to say for now, might update this later with some more info about IRC.

Want a cool IRC server to chat on? Join rnb/rnbunker's IRC server! You will need a Tor, Yggdrasil or i2P proxy and an IRC client like HexChat. Here are the links:

Tor

I2p or B32

Yggdrasil

You can join the #general channel and the #general-shitcord channel for retarded conversations about different topics.

If you don't know anyone ask rnb, IdotMaster or phrl for help
